What Does a Headshot Session Actually Look Like?

Every session happens where you are — your office, your home, or your job site. Dustyn arrives with a full portable studio: collapsible backdrop, strobes, and softboxes. Setup takes about 15 minutes in any conference room or clear wall space. Then it's short, coached shooting rounds — posture, chin, shoulders, expression — with the frames reviewed together on a tethered screen so you approve your selects before the session ends. Retouched finals arrive the next business day.

In June 2026 I photographed team headshots for a 14-person escrow office near Canyon Crest in Riverside CA — portable backdrop and a two-light setup in their conference room, about 15 minutes per person across one morning, everyone back at their desk by lunch. All 14 retouched selects were delivered the next business day for the company's website relaunch.

Setup needs about 15 minutes and a clear stretch of wall or conference room.

What should I wear for a professional headshot?

Solid mid-tone colors photograph best — navy, charcoal, burgundy, forest green. Avoid busy patterns, logos, and pure white or pure black as your only layer. Bring a second option: sessions include multiple looks, and the safest plan is one formal layer (blazer or jacket) and one softer one. Executive sessions include a wardrobe consult before the shoot.

How long does a headshot session take?

Individual sessions run about 30 minutes, the LinkedIn Package about 45, and Executive sessions 60–90 minutes. Team days move at roughly 10–15 minutes per person after a one-time setup — a 14-person office wraps in about three hours.

Is retouching included, and how far does it go?

Yes — every delivered image is individually retouched: skin cleanup, stray hairs, lint, glare, and color correction. The goal is you on your best normal day, not a plastic filter. Heavier requests (glasses glare removal, composite swaps for team photos) are handled case-by-case as add-ons.

Can you match new-hire headshots to our existing team photos?

Yes. Lighting, backdrop, and framing specs are documented per client, so a new employee photographed months later drops seamlessly next to the originals on your team page. Many Inland Empire offices book a short new-hire session each quarter for exactly this.
