First Impressions

Why Do Diners Judge Your Restaurant Before They Arrive?

Before anyone tastes your food, they've already toured your restaurant — on Google, Yelp, Instagram, and your website. The photos they find decide whether they book, order, or keep scrolling. Blurry interiors and dark phone shots of the dining room quietly tell people the experience is an afterthought. A cohesive set of professional photos — the room, the bar, the plates, the energy of a full service — does the opposite: it sells the night before the first drink is poured.

What Gets Photographed in a Restaurant Session?

A restaurant is more than plates — it's a room, a bar, and a rhythm. Sessions are timed to your light and your service: dining room and exterior frames at golden hour, ambiance sets at blue hour when the pendants glow, bar action once service picks up, and menu-ready dish photography worked in around the kitchen's pace. One visit, one cohesive look, every asset your marketing needs.

Hospitality Experience

Shot by a Photographer Who's Worked Real Service Nights

Restaurant photography fails when the photographer treats a working venue like a studio. Dustyn's hospitality work was built the opposite way — covering live service nights, not staged sets. That includes recurring weekly coverage at Mezcalero's Long Beach and Downtown LA locations, menu work for Pier 76 and The Ordinarie in Long Beach, shoots for Padre's, and bar coverage at The Harbor before it closed. He knows how to get the shots without slowing your line, blocking your servers, or making guests feel photographed.

Behind the Lens

A Recent Restaurant Photography Project

Evening interior session — ambiance, bar action, and dishes in one visit

Dustyn Reno personally shoots every restaurant session — past clients include Mezcalero (Long Beach and Downtown LA), Pier 76, Padre's, and The Ordinarie in Long Beach.

In May 2026 I photographed an evening interior-and-bar set for a taproom in Corona CA — dining room ambiance at blue hour, bartender action frames at the rail, and a dozen menu-ready dish shots, all in a single three-hour visit timed to open-of-service light.

Local context: Delivery platforms enforce their own photo specs — DoorDash and Uber Eats both reject low-resolution menu images — so every restaurant set ships in platform-ready crops alongside the full-resolution files, through the same color-managed sRGB pipeline I use for CRMLS listing work.

Restaurant Photography Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does restaurant photography cost?
Focused shoots start at $349, half-day sessions covering interiors plus a full menu start at $649, and full-day brand shoots start at $999. Monthly content retainers start at $499/month. Every venue is quoted to its size, concept, and usage — a quick call gets you an exact number.Full pricing guide
Do you shoot during service or before we open?
Both, on purpose. Interiors and dish photography usually happen pre-open when the room is clean and controlled; ambiance, bar action, and energy frames are shot during live service. Dustyn's background covering working service nights means the during-service half happens without disrupting your staff or guests.
How long does a restaurant session take?
A focused session runs about two hours; a half-day covering interiors, dishes, and bar work runs about four. Full-day brand shoots follow the venue from pre-open prep through evening service. Most restaurants get everything they need in a half-day.
What do we actually receive?
Color-corrected, full-resolution files delivered the next business day, plus crops sized for Google Business Profile, delivery platforms, your website, and social. A half-day session typically delivers 20–25 finished images across interiors, dishes, and bar coverage — with full usage rights.
Can you photograph our food for DoorDash and Uber Eats?
Yes — menu-item photography sized to delivery-platform specs is part of most sessions. DoorDash and Uber Eats both enforce minimum resolution and crop standards on menu images; every delivery includes platform-ready versions alongside the full-resolution files.
Do you offer recurring monthly coverage?
Yes — monthly content retainers start at $499/month for a standing shoot that keeps your Google profile, menus, and social feeds current. It's the same recurring model Dustyn ran as weekly coverage for Mezcalero's two locations.
